Joint or Individual?
The decision on whether to process a joint request or two individual requests has nothing to do with marital status or matching last names. It is decided by your current and/or prior addresses. If you have both resided at the same address for at least the past 2 years, you can process a joint request. If you both have not resided at the same address for the past two years, you must process 2 individual requests. This is due to limitations in the credit reporting system that allow the processing of only one current and prior address per request.
